Stacey and King were married in the Spring of 2009 at St. Bartholomew's Chuch in New York City. They had their reception at "Inside Park", the restaurant annexed to the church. We were asked to design the place cards, menus and table markers for their event. We also helped them set everything up with our day-of event coordinating. We love the buddhas that Stacey found to hold the place cards!
One of my favorite weddings of 2009 was for my client "Carina & Stren". They were married in the Pacific Northwest on Lopez Island in August. Their amazing wedding planner, Jacky Grotle of Event Success pulled together a stunning event that brought together the couple's personalities and heritages.
Here are some photos of the wedding invitation that we designed for them that utilized wood for all of their printed pieces. The outside folded wrap was made of wood and held the invitation panel and enclosures that were all letterpressed. The menus and programs were offset printed or white foil-stamped on poplar wood. The poplar wood was the perfect material choice as their wedding venue was surrounded by poplar trees!
Photos shown here are credited to April Greer, the bride and groom's photographer.
Took some snapshots today of some work of a wood carver artist. If you are interested in commissioning him for a project, give us a call. The artist doesn't speak English. 212-627-2061
Back in the Spring, we were asked by party planner extraordinaire, David Tutera to design escort cards for his bride Jamie that was featured on his WEtv show, "My Fair Wedding". We were more than happy to design these bright orange and purple-themed cards for their reception. Here is the video snipit featuring our cards at the very beginning of the video. It's short, but sweet and we are still so excited and honored that the showed reached out to us.
Here is a photo of what we created upclose!
Had the chance to see this amazing exhibit at the Museum of Arts and Design this evening! If you love paper, then you have to see this! So many wonderful artists display their works using paper as their medium.
Last weekend's "Design on a Dime" workshp with Lindsay Landman Events was a success. Here are some images from the event courtesy of Sharon Schuster Photography who allowed us all to be at her studio! We also designed the menus and table markers that Lindsay used as examples for her table top designs. Sharon even captured my wedding invitation on camera for the first time! So here's a sneak peek for those who are curious! We'll post more photos later.
Are you getting married or know someone who is? Have them visit us at the New York Wedding Workshop seminar, "How to Design on a Dime"! June 27th from 10am-1pm. We will be speaking at the seminar and will have a display of our work.
Being in the wedding industry, I come across many great photographers on a regular basis. I've already listed some of them on my resources page, but I wanted to call out some of my recent favorites:
Shira Weinberger (of course) is shooting my wedding. I am a borderline stalker of her blog and of her work! She is truly amazing and am so blessed to have found her to capture our once-in-a-lifetime memories. She made us feel like we fell out of a magazine. Here are a few of my favorites from our engagement shoot.
Ruby & Benjamin Arnoux, a husband and wife team based in Bayside, New York was recently was hired by my sister to photograph my bridal shower...really great photos! Here are two favorites from that event:
Micah Dahlberg Photography....a friend of a friend who I haven't met yet, but based on their website, I am in awe as well. They are based in California and are willing to travel.
Rich Janniello of Ciro Photography recently photographed my client's wedding in April. I helped her with day-of-coordinating, so I was able to get to know Rich in person. Very kind and was able to handle all of the church's restrictions and still managed to get beautiful, vintage-style shots.
After 4 months of creative blocks and sparks of creativity, I am happy to announce that the wedding invitations are finally at the printers...When they get are completed, I will post them on our blog. Needless to say, it's a very "double happiness/dragon and phoenix"-inspired look.

For Vanessa & Christopher's October wedding, we designed wedding programs for their ceremony, escort cards, menus and table markers for their reception. Photos courtesy of Chris Humphrey's photography.
